The Heist: A Novel, by Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg

The Heist is the first in a promised series co-written by Evanovich and author and TV writer Lee Goldberg. I am a fan of the Stephanie Plum books and the characters in this new book let the authors write about bigger crimes and more exotic locations than Stephanie’s Trenton, New Jersey. The two main characters, FBI Special Agent Kate O’Hare and con man Nicholas Fox recruit other colorful team members to help pull off their caper to capture a Bernie Madoff type character who is hiding out in an Indonesian island. Evanovich is a master at escapist literature with appealing characters, a little spicy but you could recommend this book to your grandmother to read. According to the authors, the second “Fox and O’Hare” book is almost completed. Literature “lite” but fun.

RATING: * * * A good read
